The Visual Element of a Communication Tactic
In this presentation, Marie Bourgeois, an alumna of Notre Dame and professor of visual communications, highlights the importance of having effective visuals to engage and indulge our current visual culture. She believes that expression, be it through art, clothing or individual choice showcases the inner art director in us.
In the PR world, how we communicate is vital but how we represent and showcase this communication is equally as important. By utilizing imagery, iconography and messages through visual mediums, we are able to communicate stories, orally and visually.
OG&ME: A Visual Community
For our client, we wanted a visual communication tactic that enables not only the client to provide a story, but for its stakeholders, employees and consumers to as well. By using an ambiguous Me, we open the hashtag to be used by all who care to be part of the OG&E community.
As a result, the story of OG&E is community-oriented. It allows people to be able to create their own story as well as be part of a bigger story for the company.
